tiptronic squeek?

hey guys just did a marathon drive from christchurch to auckland in the last day had a few good kills along the way ( civic type r, evo2 ) but i noticed at a certain point i got a very high pitched squeek-ish sound that seemed to come from the gearbox, does anyone have any ideas what i could be?

does it only occur at certain rpm or at certain speeds.

I have one that is not very loud and occurs at certain revs in certain gears but different speeds. it is diffinatly not the turbos spooling. It sound like the old BBC testcard image sound on the TV when it was shutting down for the night. It came on just after the national anthem went off. We are talking 20 years ago.

Be interesting to find out what it is.

Could be the transfer box. Get it on the other halfs 3000GT at about 75mph
+/- 3 or 4 mph. Just a "thin" high pitched whine. Probably get
WRD to change the oil in the not too distant future.

its at different speeds but at the same point on the boostg guage inHg 12 which is really strange...

just had the atf changed about 3 weeks ago aswell

the transfer case would make a grinding noise if it was that...its not somthing stuid like a hose popped off somewhere?
