What's a stock ECU worth?

Howzit,

The shop that did my manual conversion has asked if I still have the ECU out of the Tiptronic. Anyone want to give a ballpark figure on what these are worth? I was guessing $2-300.

the engine ecu or trans ecu? I'd say about $200

Depends on where you can get one from. If you're like me it costs peanuts coz I got mine from brad here. They could be damn near imposible to get second hand by themselves as most wreckers only sel engine/ecu combos. Could be 10 times your guess for a new one from Japan, Im sure Ive seen a thread from the UK guys that said something lke 1000 pounds for them to get one. Don't quote me on this.

hah yeah you're right, to buy one from mitsi would be a few thousand, but no normal sane person would pay that much :)

Cheers guys. I'll go with $250. These guys did a pretry mint job on the conversion and gave me a decent cash discount. Saves me having to sell the damn thing too.
