Well, I was thinking of one of those sports thin, low weight batteries, should give clearance then

They're not cheap batteries Pete, not for a proper one that won't lose charge anyway.

you can buy it if you want , but it won't fit , and even if it did , you will lose power

there dont seem to be the adapter to convert when you take off the standard air box. just get your self a K&N panel filter

The other issue is that the kit looks like a kit for US galants, not UK/JDM/NZ galants, remember those guys drive on the wrong side of the road, and it may not fit into your car.

the only i can see being an issue is lack of air feed, so you will be sucking warm air in from around the engine bay.....

thats why if i keep my galant, im putting a little v slot in the bonnet straight into a custom made air box so it just gets cold air

Also, I THINK I'm right in saying that all the V6 Galants I've seen in the US are 3.0's...

Moving away from the "I said it first" thing.
Why would the silver dildo cause it to lose power? Drawing in hot air due to lack of cold air feed?

Paul - yeah thats basically it. Unless you could seal the air filter in it's own box, kind of like my setup.
