in my hunt for parts today,

there is a mostly complete 4wd legnum with a 5 speed manual gearbox,

all parts are there needed to do a conversion

had a quick glance at the prices, would cost less than $200 in parts if i read the chart correctly.

the box is a w5m42 (not sure what the 42 means, the vr4 one is 51?)
perfect for a evo gear set conversion?? (bradc has a source for these at very resonible price)

oh the car is at pick-a-part avondale

w5m = 5 speed manual for a 4wd car. NO idea about the 42, but that means it probably isn't strong enough for a VR-4. What engine was in it? Was it a 6a13 or a 4 cylinder?

was a GDI,

so its prob best to have a evo gearset fitted, should be fine for a vr4

a 1.8 or 2.4gdi? (just trying to find info on what sort of ratios it would have)

if it was a prefacelift it was a 1.8, facelifts came with 1.8 and 2.4 gdi's because there was no non-turbo V6 (well in the JDM market anyway)

I found a pdf for the gearbox and all the ratios are higher, which isn't what we want, so it doesn't matter anyway.
