About 5 or 6 pages down, there is a picture of a triple tipped spark plug, never knew something like that existed, does anyone have any input on this?

btw, it is a great site, I'd recommend you all check out the links at the top of the page.

I have used triple and quad electrodes in my previous vehicles.

They are meant to deteriorate more slowly - not really a problem in my case, as I often changed the plugs every couple of months or so. :)

wouldn't they also improve the spark quality and stuff like that?

they look a gimmick to me?

friends dad had them in his GDI, lasted about the same as a stock plug.

have fun re-gapping the ****ers!

heh yeah regapping would be a bit of a pain, and I don't think they would last much longer anyway, it's normally the tip in the middle of the plug that gets eroded first.

interesting concept though.

We are using the bosch super 4 plugs (4 electrodes) in the Legnum. They seem to work well as had no problems in excess of 15psi of boost.

will take them out one of these days to see how they go.

You are not meant to re-gap them! :)

Nothing new here. a firm called 'Lodge' used to make the 3 side electrode jobbys in the '40's. The ultimate version of the more ears is better idea is the Race Champion system, there is no side electode at all, the outer part of the plug is very much nearer the central electrode and the distance from it is the gap. So you then have a whole ring from which the spark may jump.
