hey guys

thanks to some execellent investigation work by dixon8 i can now post up a phamphlet of some ksport fully adjustable coilover suspension (see attached)

they look pretty good and im probably gonna get some arround august.

FYI fastlane tyres in hopper st, wellington quoted $1800 fully fitted
and $350 for certification.

maybe we could organise a club-discount or bulk buy...

theres also a camber kit on the same phamphlet but i have no idea if its avaliable for the vr4.

These are apparently EXACTLY THE SAME as D2. Just different branding for the same item.

You wont get camber plates as camber plates are useless with multi-link suspension.

Buy some D2s for $1400-$1500 and install them yourself in under 2 hours is what I would suggest. This is very very very easy to do

any sources for d2's at that price then?

/me goes off searching for article on fitting coilovers

redline performance (http://www.redlineperformance.co.nz/main.cfm?id=2&pid=260) appear to have a set for the vr4 for $1450

might have to investigate

I have some coilovers which I may be able to get for $1200 per set. Only thing is that I haven't installed them yet so cant comment on how good or bad they are. (the most likely issue is going to be what the spring rate is like)

have uploaded a pic of them

edit: 32 click damper adjustable, aluminium construction. These are lighter than my Tanabes.

Rosco_NZ: As Ken mentioned...apparently the D2's are made up from different manufacture's parts...D2 don't have a production factory where they make the product...more tho of an assembly line. -Just what I heard, correct me if I'm wrong. :)
Ken: ohhh shineyyyy! :D
Candee: You probably can, but it'll be damn expensive...not worth it at all.

If you already have struts and springs that you like it doesnt cost that much at all.. :)

Kev - do you make a set of 8 pot fronts and 6 pot rears for evo's? I could only find 8 pot fronts for them.

£490 inc delivery in UK mainland for the Daiyama Coilovers and you can use with DPX the inc car damping controller as well. All of them are despatched from UK hence no surprise on tax or duty upon arriving to your door. I reckon if a groupbuy is in place the price can drop quite nicely too!

D2's from Tyre Mate in East Tamaki, Auckland. Fitted for $1550, was quoted just yesterday. They're prices are awesome,

If you're in Auckland, call them for a price, ask for Calvin.

That sounds like a good price for cert.

Coilovers are very very easy to install yourself. if you can undo bolts, then you can install coilovers in a VR-4.

Even Brad could do it!

Mac, the coilovers in post #10 look to be height and preload adjustable... do you have those? Last time we discussed Daiyama coilovers, you said they did not have seperate height and preload adjustment.

These pictures was taken of the actual item for the Galant when they came in, as you can see that the lower collar adjustment, therefore you adjust the height via lengthening or shorting the overall length :) Hope this helps :)

Is that right, that VR-4 shocks would not fit in V6?
If so... Is that only rear pair, due to 4WD? Or front too?

Galantonly, sorry didn't see your post. A few people in NZ have fitted VR-4 spec suspension to their ST-R and it fits. Note however these are JDM 4wd cars. I'm not 100% sure if VR-4 suspension will fit on normal 2wd V6's

Now I'm 100% sure that VR-4 suspension fit 2WD Galants. And Legnum suspension fit Galants... With other words: shocks and springs is completely interchangeble between all EA0 models...

I've been wanting to get this clarified actually. I have a '96 ST25 which has wishbone suspension at the front, will the D2's fit?

Yes yes... If they will fit VR-4's, they will fit ST25 too...

But if they are for USDM Galants, they will not fit...

So is it only the american market that had mcpherson style suspension at the front?

The only pictures of D2 coilovers I've seen, had attachments for mcpherson style suspension on the front struts.
