I like the mags on the 4th one down, the one with the big gaping hole. They look like propellor blades or something!

The second one down with the facelift bumper and custom fog's looks amazing too.

They do look superb. Didn't realise they were that sort of money... how can a set of lights be over $2000 US... ??????

yup i have them, im one of the lucky ones.... i brought them with the car. Car was imported in NZ from Japan and i only saw it a couple of days before i decided to go buy the car. (i was looking for a VR4 Legnum at the time) luckily i brought it when i saw it tho. I knew about the car... but the stuff that came with the car made my decision even easier. had NO idea what cibies were... till i signed up on this forum. My car has a few aftermarket stuff. Ill get some more pics up later in weekend, when i give it a clean and stuff.

<------- theres a lil shot of them on my car, with the M3 mirrors.

Few Reasons i think:

theyre not your average lights... where they could cost like a few hundreds.
Its not just the looks, the light bulbs inside them are quite bright/bluey colour.

Theyre very rare.... they dont make them. (only in Japan)

bucho
23-04-2007, 05:07 PM
is there anywhere else where u can get them cheaper

bradc
23-04-2007, 07:52 PM
you might be lucky and find them on ebay japan, not sure how much cheaper they would be though.

i doubt that they will be cheap.

This is 100% CIBIE HID
this is the official web site http://www.cibie.com/Page/CIBIE_HID/GALANT.htm
And twice cheaper than you talk guys.
And another link http://www.e-lamp.co.jp/cibie/f1.html
the price is 115000 Yen,
USD JPY
1 = 118.68
result is 969 USD
USD GBP
1 = 0.50
So the price is 484,49 GBP + shipping

I want them too, but do not know how to get em (who will bring them from japan)

P.S. The third picture is not a CIBIE (I guess its the hand made)

Spirit

Translating the advert, I think the price you mention is for Halogen and not HID:

Gear run/halogen headlight set for [regunamu] (HA01) \ 134,400 (including tax)/\ 128,000 (tax removal)
 Low beam: Halogen projector (H 755 W)
 High beam: Halogen SC (H155W)

If you notice on the second link you posted there are also two prices......again I assume one is HID (205000 Yen) and Halogen (115200 yen)

Edit: In fact, translated the second advert and confirms the cheaper price is halogen and not HID

stuey
29-04-2007, 01:56 PM
Was thinking about a HID conversion but that's a bit strong. £400 ish plus shipping might have gone for it...

Still interested if available from US somehow...

ILYA
29-04-2007, 01:57 PM
You absolutely right Spirit. But the HID system are not manufacture and sell any more (translating the second link will show you that the sell end) and the first link do not trade them at all.
I prefer to buy Halogen instead of HID because i can install xenon bulbs in halogen module by myself and save some money thou.

Would it be possible to make them? im sure with the right mould, some time and patience those could be made?

what are the legalities of making lights, i.e. direction of beam etc.

ILYA
30-04-2007, 12:34 PM
It is possible, but as for me, the expenses of time and nerves and also including that they do not look so cool as CIBIE, so I have decided to leave this invention and simply to buy. But this is only my subjective opinion.

Interesting  - why does it need springs? to protect the lights from judder? or for allignment?

AncientOfMu
01-05-2007, 10:01 AM
My guess would be for alignment. If you look at the standard Pre-facelift VR4 foglights they have springs too.

Guys.
Neither MMC, nor any other produces such instrument cluster, as on NA-1's pics.
This is hand made thing. A friend of mine has the same, and he told me that
this is a combination of euro galant speedo + VR-4 tacho.
But, maybe I wrong.

bradc

na1- I love the headlamps - the proper way to do HID! I've thought about doing something similar, but couldn't find donor projectors that were small enough. Where did you get them from?

EDD
17-06-2007, 06:38 PM
Call me boring but i prefer the standard stuff. They are a bit too 'boy racer-ish' for me (dont want to offend anybody). Although, I'm sure the price would prevent most boy racers from buying them. I'd love to have that sort of money to spend on shiney bits for mine (ie dump valves, big turbos etc), I just end up spending it on repairs. Suppose, nobody said owning a VR-4 was going to be cheap.

I'm really interested in those mirror mounted indicators, I'm guessing they're DIY fitted, but where did you take them from? I've got a couple of spare mirrors I'd like to try this on.

Which cars are the turn signals in the mirrors?

Which cars are the turn signals in the mirrors?

Ganadors, once again quite expensive if getting genuine.

MarkSanne
01-10-2012, 12:45 PM
Ganador never made mirrors with turn signal lights for our cars. For EVO's and Scoobies they have models available with it, but 'back in those days' they only made a few models:

- regular (manual mirror adjustment)
- regular (electric mirror adjustment)
- carbon (electric mirror adjustment & heated)

And then there were lens-colour options (clear or blue-ish mirror glas).
