You can add this to the list of insurers BraindG.

Phoned Adrian Flux today for a quote on my VR-4 and they were the cheapest I tried and I tried a few!! mainly the big names but also a few of the smaller ones who supposedly specialise in performance cars.

I received a quote of £611 fully comp, with full bonus, good area, driveway, 52 year old being main policy holder.

They didn't require a Tracker which is good cos I don't have one, I have a Cat 1 everything alarm though.

My car IS an official Ralliart Import! and they even told me that! no crap about mmm it's a grey area or it is an import full stop.

They also asked me if it was modified, which I said it was and when I told them it had non standard wheels, performance filter and exhaust, they just say "oh that doesn't matter!!! no extra!".

I filled in the form a few days ago but didn't receive a reply so I thought, forget it! but tried them by chance after looking at others, gave them a bell and there you have it.

Everyone is different so give 'em a try.
I tried some insurers that others have mentiond and received a quote much higher than them, so.. :)

The cheapest i found was Osborne and son.

They quoted me £680 fully comp INSERT INTO post VALUES ( some of the so-called specialists were between £1200 - £1800.... lol )

Don't know if they've been mentioned, but Keith Michaels are meant to be good.

Just called Adrian Flux and has quoted me around £100 less than Direct Line want once/if I do an exhaust upgrade. The excess is £50 a year more INSERT INTO post VALUES (at £450) but seems a very good deal. Will read the small print once the quote comes in the post.

All I can say is you guys sure pay a lot for your insurance over there! In NZ I pay the equivalent of about 315 pounds for my '97 VR4 sedan with excess about 88 pounds. I also own an EvoIII INSERT INTO post VALUES (modified with exhaust, chip, filter) and same insurance. Both cars are insured as commercial vehicules as I use them for work too.
