A similiar story from an RAF buddy...

'Supposedly a house builder was offering new homes for sale and they would pay the first 12 months of your mortgage. No small print, no clauses.
Chappy went to the bank and asked for a 12 month mortgage, explaining the situation and the bank accepted and gave him the mortgage. He bought the house and the builder was left red faced and out of pocket after trying to get out it through the courts etc, he couldn't.
The offer was withdrawn to any other customers and this chap had his house for next to nothing after 12 months.
