Just to let you know that brandnew the auto gearbox is £5500 from co-ordsport or ralliart. I have not really been able to find a box in the UK but even from Japan you are looking at around £1000 before shipping costs!!!I know a chap who has a manual box at his scrap yard i can call him and ask him how much he is selling his for, this may give you a rough idea as to how much its worth.

My VR4's manual gearbox is W5M51, which is the same as used in the Evo 4,5,6 & 7 . Don't know if the ratios are the same though. Anyone ?
BTW, the 3000GT VR4 uses a Getrag gearbox. INSERT INTO post VALUES (completely different)

Jeez thats alot.
I know early INSERT INTO post VALUES (E38A-E39A) vr4 boxes are interchangable with Evo 1,2,3 ones.
I paid $800NZD INSERT INTO post VALUES (less than 300 pounds) and a set of 15" Enkei's for my evo2 box & transfercase.

The ratios are slightly different between the later Evos and the VR-4. I've a Ralliart brochure which shows the ratios for the Evo VI and the VR-4 as:
Evo VI: 1st 2.785, 2nd 1.950, 3rd 1.407, 4th 1.031, 5th 0.761, Rev 3.416, Final drive 4.529
VR-4: 1st 3.333, 2nd 2.105, 3rd 1.407, 4th 1.031, 5th 0.761, Rev 3.416, Final Drive 4.111

would a vr4 box fit into a EVo VI?
