Third option would be to private message Adrian (G6ACB). He's got a spare rear-ended GLS that he's parting out. He might be interested in an exchange?

Already tried Zedy 1as he doesnt live to far away and that would have been great. Will try Mo after I check with garage as to seeing if it is worth repairing.

I stuck my sump on with 'no more nails' when it was leaking - I dont think it will ever come off!

Wouldn't be too keen on welding it, a good replacement (Mo etc) or if not then maybe a new one.

oops.Went and took advice on welding and its a no go zone as the chap at the garage said it was looking like a tea bag(well perforated) due to exhaust running so close to the sump.Like I said lovly design.Priced up a new one arrrgh abit of a knock back but ayh. Now just got to fit the dam thingwhen I get chance to go past main dealers again to collect it.I knew it was all going to good and that something would happen to screw things up before the 19th

What was the price? my VR4 sump is not the original shape and it's something I'm considering changing at the next service.

D'oh!! Oh well, at least you've got a new one on the way. Maybe at Japfest we can apply some cunning ClubVR-4 leak-sealing Gaffer Tape?! :embarasse /pan

I was told I wasnt ripped off, honest gov,141.00 plus.It just seemed a little that way at the time.Seems like it might have aero dynamic qualities of which I didnt know the Galant had ha.A well it should: put an end to the slick

oh god ,fresh devolpment in this blasted sump story.Could be that there isnt a new sump in the whole of the country.I just dont believe this is getting so out of hand. Checked with Preston and Manchester dealers and they checked the net work and not one Mitsubishi dealer as got a s@~~*^.Scrap yards will not take the sump off the engine, I think we know the out come of why that reason gets told to me.So possible out come wait 8 to 10days (maybe more) for new sump to come from JAPAN (SO i GET TOLD).Likly out come to this, NO SUMP NO JAPFEST. Can anyone now help as this is getting desparate

As suggested by Paul, trying phoning Mo. But 2 - 3 weeks is the typically waiting time to get something that's on back order from Japan.

Brand new sump on car.Didnt need sealer from Japan and is working ok with a heat and oil resitant sealer I bought from local car acessorie shop. Took it out this weekend and everthing was fine. No leaks !!!!!!!!. Bit of a expensive repair but no oil reserve outside house now. hopefully will make it to next fest.

Oh yes! In full road trim with no launch, gearbox left in 'D'....

18.2 seconds @ 75MPH!

For years you lot have been farting about with NOS and ever more inventive ways of breaking your engines, gearboxes and diffs, whilst all the time, the GOD of GLS Power has had the highest Galant score on record!:evil2: :evil2:

Yes good job done and thanks for your support.I think the drag track will have to wait another year yet and I think just getting to Santa Pod in one piece will be good enough for me instead of heiring one of those "clever cars from vauxhall" again which was a bit of a let down. 10 out of 10 to a guy called Gavin and the crew at Foxfied (Mitsubishi ) garage ltd ,Wigan.Cheers
