It's been about 6 months in the making to get the right car over from Japan, but here she is..

I didn't managed to get leather but got everything else on the wish list: Manual shift, ayc, moonroof, not white (runs for cover), low kms etc. Very, very happy! :iloveyou:

Very nice car.

Did you import it yourself?

No, I had a local dealer import it for me. They had one in last year which was sold when I went to take a look so I gave them a wishlist, and eventually I got one :) So many delays its untrue! Even the DVLA were on strike the day I could register it!! (it's an April '97)

Cheers Chaps! I can't believe how clean it is, I saw it fresh out of the container before any valeting, and it was looking good even then. Engine bay is spotless too (I just need to keep it that way now!)

As for the ten year rule, it does live without a doubt, I was trying to get it a couple of days early as I was going away but they wouldn't do it, so instead it just sat there waiting!

bigsed i wouldnt worry about it not being white, because silver is the best colour for a galant/legnum this is common knowledge, you do get a few people who think white is the best colour for a galant????? the only redeeming thing about a white galant, is that if you look at a white galant, skwint your eyes a bit to focus and make sure your looking at the sun aswell, they do sort of look silver......

yes thats a rear foglight hanging down, they became mandiatory for an mot in 1980, and japanese cars dont have fog lights, so they hideously get bolted on at the bottom of the bumper usually..........dont know if there interchangable, but if i bought an import from japan, i would look for some uk spec lights with fogs already in, to declutter the car

looks good, although does it smell in the interior, every import i know of from japan stinks to high heaven of, mouldy air conditioning and dodgy japanese ciggerates lol...kinda a wierd smell, kinda like an old man who smokes a pipe in his rover.. then the rover sits for 3 years in a damp place, or water runs in through the panel gaps of the rover making the interior damp and is then left like that, then your getting close to it lol

Dont know what Kieran is on about, but then again, who does?

Tidy looking car, nice clean engine bay. Is that white paint on the rad header tank hose?

Cheers for the praise chaps! To cover some of the comments, it's a fog light fitted for the MOT, which will be removed in due course. I have ordered the missing bit from the front lip which should arrive next week. The white stuff is only on the pipe, the tank just looks odd in the photo, its a white powder which comes off fine. The car had to come in a container as there have been so few ro-ro boats coming in to the UK, and the one's that have are filled up quickly by the big companies.
I think that covers most of it!

She also has some nice "Legnum" badged mats onboard, not sure if they were factory, but certainly look it, even the rear tunnel has a matching mat!

You could wire in the foglight to the rear light cluster, thats what I would do if I was over there.

Yeah, my plan is to do the same as with my last car (Ford Probe) and just make one of the reverse lamps a fog light, worked a treat last time round

yeh its mandatory unfortunatly for post 1980 cars, but only for a rear fogs, front fogs are set on the basis, if they are fitted they must work(for mot) and can only be used when visibility is less than a 100 foot.....but you always get some prats with them on every night
