Pre-Facelift front caliper bolt spacing?

Hi,

I am looking to fit a big-brake upgrade to my Pre-Facelift VR4 but the supplier hasn't done one before. They need to know the front caliper mounting bolt spacing (for the new caliper adaptor to attach to). Or in their words the Spindle bracket mounting spacing.

As far as I can measure it myself it looks to be 130mm but I didn't have the right tools with me to actually take one off and measure it precisely. So I was reaching behind with a ruler and digital camera:

I think the other dimensions they want (in red) are:

PCD 5x114.3, Centre Hole Bore 67.1mm

So does anyone know the caliper bolt spacing quickly?

Assuming I can get them to fit I will let you know how they go.

why not take the calipers off and measure it?

I tried to get it off but unfortunately my socket-set rachet broke on me as the bolts are on really tight!

Plus I only had the car up on the factory jack since my trolley jack seems to have given up the ghost so I was afraid to yank it too hard with a spanner in case I pulled it over. It was quite wobbly!

StuartTurbo - I think you must have a different caliper mounting to me since from my picture my caliper mounting bolts can't be 145mm apart. Is yours a facelift? Or is it possible that drawing is from the rear brake as I measured ~140mm on my rear?

Rally205 sorted out a 4pot upgrade for the pre facelift, really good quality by all accounts and lighter than the Brembo's people use too. Send him a message and see if he can get you a set.

I will have a look at my data book at home tonight i have just measured mine for a brake upgrade to the evo 6,7,8,9 brembos. so i will have the info to night.

96 Pre facelift VR4 calliper mounting bolt holes are approx 128mm Centre to centre. i measured mine.

Thanks for that. I got the same number from another brake supplier too so my initial estimate of 130mm was a little large. I'll see how they fit anyway. Not due to arrive for a few weeks yet.

Out of interest, which route are you taking for upgrading the Pre-Facelift VR4 brakes? I was dealing with MY-Garage in Glasgow and they are supplying the VTTR 6-pot brakes with 330mm discs for me to try out on the front:

will the callipers bolt straight on or do you need a conversion bracket?

how much are they going for?

What wheels do you have, as i imagine 6 pot callipers will be very chunky and you will probably need 18" to fit over the callipers. just like the brembos, (17" EVO wheels go over those).

They look great. I would be interested in an update on the fitment.
