Surprised no-one's interested - I'd spent some time working out some electronics for a gear indicator - the dash display didn't really cut it for me, and it was too distracting to have to look down when pressing on in tip mode. If I'd known about these when I had a VR4, I'd have got one.

Yep, I had been looking around for this type of 'eye level' gear position indicator for ages - you just don't have time to look at the dash when tracking at high speeds - and using the manual side dropping one or two gears before a corner and not knowing if it's 'dropped' is a real pain.

On my fto i have a little gizmo that you might like.

Its a paddle shift that runs the tip box. Sits on the back of the steering wheel f1 style with 2 paddles.

If you pull on the paddle, it sends a radio signal to the reciever box, which tells the gearbox ecu and hence shifts the gear.

It was on the car when i bought it, and although its very well made i suspect the original owner of the car made it. (ie not the person before me) If i could trace him i could i'm sure get the drawings. I'm sure the electronics could be figured out but the mechanism itself is so nice it would be a shame to re-concoct it.

Cheers,

Ben.
