I guess I found the guard in oversea,I found few supplier, but I am still planning which one I can get it best quailty.

anyone know if there is any different between the US spec's guard and JDM one?

Just make sure you come in the afternoon so I have the chance to get money out from the bank!

Someone on here 'showvr' fitted some of the guards that were on trademe, they were USDM spec and didn't line up very well, especially at the bottom, the sideskirts didn't line up at all.

any chance you can get hold with him and ask for some photo?or even borrow it from him?As soon as I have a pair, even it's un-fit,I can remake the whole thing to perfect fit by my factory,I can still make something without a mould guard, but it will cost me more time to do it.

92-96 Galants..

The shape before the one you have the evo front for.

I have only found one place that makes the guards for this shape galant, and apparently they are really hard to come by.

I don't know, but the factory manager suggest me to get him something before they help me to work on it....look like it will take me a lots of time to make one,of coz if I arrange to make it,it will bolt straight on,I would like to know how many ppl would be interest on it before I go any further, the price would be about $750 a pair for sure.

my thoughts too

I would pay that much for a pair molded off the original guards that fitted the car properly.

Kenneth
20-05-2007, 10:26 PM
If you are going to the trouble of moulding guards, why not make them wider to accommodate wider wheels? 30mm wider would probably do it.

yeah like evo 5/6 front guards

I've got a pair of those FN vented guards and IN NO WAY do you want to be using those. Cost me a couple of hundred for them and they looked mint from the trade me pics of it and I was uber careful to ask the guy if the would pretty much bolt straight onto my 8g leggy. They don't in anyway shape or form. Ive been hitting the arsehole I bought them off months for a refund but he's bitching that he can't do that and the best he'll do me is have me pay him another $500 for his "mate" to "fix" them. So the entire things turn a fair bit pooey and it's come down to me getting my lawyers involved now.

Yeah, I dont need this sort of thing on top of assignments and what little family time I get. But it would be nice to see some more gear for our cars like bumpers and fenders and skirts. especially skirts. Not a big fan of having giant driving lights like an evo, but the rest looks nice on that bumper.

d i c k i e s
21-05-2007, 03:23 AM
same here... im not into the HUGE EVO lights... kinda silly, if your gonna do that i reckon just go by a evo, they look better on them.

djb160
21-05-2007, 03:36 AM
yeah but they do offer a nice big hole duct up to a sealed airbox.

d i c k i e s

the only thing i like from the evo is the bonnet for our cars... very nice. and the various desgins.

Gly
21-05-2007, 08:55 AM
cant please everyone...
thou there isnt alot of choice out there kit wise for our cars (thats affordible anyways)

and in nz its different (for now anyway) to what everyone else has,
and if there was an evo 5/6 wagon i would have bought one,

for now a evo kit will do me just nicely...

cant wait till i have it, so i can continue with the rest of my mods.

um,..I don't think I want to make it that wide since not all the ppl would like to change their mags after changed the guard,...I would say a little bit wider is what I am looking for.

Yeah that's him.

I think you shouldn't worry too much about people not wanting to swap rims with a new guards. Most of the people who'd be interest in the guards would want to be able to put a wider rim under it anyway. People like me who were constraind in the first place by narrow? How wide a tyre do you think would be possible with your planned guards, both rear and front? 255?

hare
23-05-2007, 02:39 AM
colinjones is the right guy?is he a chinese????long time ago I brought a set of genuine jpana kit from him,he not really good to deal with honestly...he always selling some kit really cheap in trademe.

um,...it will be about 2cm wider than the factory one I guess, not sure can it use 255 of not,to be honestly you don't need to go for that wide, and even the guard is wide enough for you to use 255,you still have to do a lots of work on your chassic to run 255.My EVO run 255/40/17 on 9" rim,I done a lot of work to make it fit.guard is not the main issue.

255 wide tyres on 17x9" rims will fit on a VR-4 with an offset of 35mm. You will foul the guards though, so need either wider guards or heavily rolled.

There are pics on the site somewhere of my Legnum with such a setup.

according to what we discuss tonight, attached the photo of the evo guard, look at it on the side,it's about 30mm wider than the factory evo guard,I guess should be able to sort out your 255 problem.I will go for it if there is more pre-order.

i could be keen, price depend...

also they need to be at least as wide and low as the guards with the facelift wheel flairs

bradc
24-05-2007, 06:45 AM
or they need to be compatible with the stick on flares.

My ideal guards would be 10-20mm wider than the stock ones, vented, and still be compatible with the stock wheel arches

Hi hare

do you keep bodykits for the VR4 in stock or do we have to order them. Someone just backed into the front of my car and wasted the bumper and bonnet. I know the panelbeater so he will be able to quote out on factory pasrt but should be able to supply aftermarket. I like the look of your kits and other people on here seem to vouch for your quality. sorry to hijack the thread.

under my house,

its not that great a fit, needs work,
over the standard intercooler, and alot over a aftermarket cooler.

better suited to a non turbo legnum/galant
