Hey, thought I'd come straight to the source for the best info! My manual gearbox has a crack in the casing, and is leaking oil. Is it possible to get this repaired? What sort of money are we talking for an operation like that? Who would you guys recommend in Auckland for this sort of work? I can probably remove it and strip it myself to save on costs.

it might be possible to weld it back up, maybe talk to a company like the gearbox factory and see what they say.

Dont know about specifically welding gearboxes (didnt even know they could crack..), but East Coast Bays Engineering are good up Albany way, we use them for our structural welding at work.

Chances are a gearbox shop is just going to send it to an engineer anyways.
