^^ nah.....aluminium...thats my enclosure for the intake.....normally its polisehd to reflect heat....works great at night.....so much so that i hit boost cut quite regularly......sigh....

you need a full ecu like me, measurable boost at 1800rpm (makes the BOV go Pssshhtt) and can hit well over 15psi at 3000rpm :D

That can all be done on standard ECU, all you need is some down-pipes, intercooler and a 3" exhaust.

I have both the 1997 Galant and 2002 Legnum ECUs here, and they look quite different. i think ill start a thread about it actually...

But anyway, I was wondering if the 2002 ECU is somewhat more capable of handling boost, as I was hitting 15psi by 3000RPM (thats what the boost tap was set to) and had no issues with fuel cut at all.

when you get them both running properly, you could just swap the ecu's straight over and see what happens.

Both what running properly? I only have one Galant :P

If you look from a distance it almost looks like teeth from a beasty in alien with exception to the box of course.

Kenneth, I mean when both of your VR-4's are on the road you can swap them back and forth and see what the result is.

Great pic Trini....

You need a clear bonnet for the VR to show off that masterpiece underneath.

Car looks exceptionally clean as ALWAYS.... I wish I was as dedicated

Nah, I'll just put the 2002 ECU in the Galant. Dont need the 1997 ECU so I might ditch it

what about the 2001 ecu, is it the same as the 2002?

hmm...i run the 20002 ecu (plastic), have 2.5 down pipes and run a 3 inch right thru from the bottom collectors.....intercooler upgrade maybe?....

I remember my 1998 Facelift ecu had the plastic surround as well, maybe they changed the design from prefacelift to facelift?

And wind out the MAF screw.

My setup was also running off a LC-1 emulating narrow band with closed loop set to 15.2 rather than 14.7

I also (and this may or may not be a significant contributer) bypassed the MAF IAT (Intake Air Temp) sensor and ran one straight from the intake manifold.
