I am in the process of pricing a Stroker Kit for our cars.

This will increase our cars from the current 2.5l to 2.7l to 2.8l this is yet to be finalised and it may even be a little more.

The Stroker kit will contain a Custom made Billet Crank, forged pistons and forged rods.

I am trying to gauge serious interest in these kits. Timescale will be 32 to 52 weeks. Also this is not a definate as it all depends on the final complete price.
As with most things though the more units that are produced, the cheaper they will be.

We need to start producing stuff like this /yes

Reason being is to increase the amount of modified parts for our cars. And also that if we don't do it ourselves, eventually someone else will and then we will end up paying a premium price /yes

Come On Peeps ... /rally

1 more thing! What sort of price would you be willing to pay for a kit like this :thinking:

hmmm, see... now.... i would be very interested, but i have no idea on what i would be willing to pay cos i dont "gerrit" - i'd rather have a rough costing before i decide?

do you have any idea of the cost Glenn?

What price 'Region' would we be in, roughly Glenn? £500-£1000? £1000-£1500?

whats involved, the costs involved, man hours involved for me to guess and say what im willing to pay- so its hard for me to say.

How i would work out a value on this is !

What gain would it give me over a standard rotating assembly..

Increased capacity = increased power..

Increased strength = Ability run more power safely, allowing for upgraded turbo's to be run at higher boost levels safer.

would the kits work out cheaper coming from usa, surely they'd be the same quality :inquisiti

MINE!!! Tell them to design the whole lot for 600-700hp, and you'll have a sale

ohh and it needs to be able to rev to 8000rpm

If it's reasonably priced and done by someone with experience - I am interested.

8000 rpm??? Aim higher... at least 9000...

Although I doubt the price can be lower than that for 3s stroker made by ray pampena...

bradc

valmes, yeah you're right design it for 8000rpm and 700hp, then we'll have a bullet proof setup

?? Is this a stroker for our cars ?

Rays kits are for the 6G72 and 6G74. If i recall you are looking at US$9-10,000.

There is a boat full of work to make billet cranks, custom rods (although if you go close to something USDM then they will be cheap) custom pistons and possibly machining to the block and crank carrier.

Things like the EJ20 and the 4G63 seem a bit more roomy and they do seem to be able to get away with the blockwork. They do have a huge market volume on their sides though.

When thinking about a stroker, remember the maximum piston acceleration will be greater at the same engine rpm than std (greater distance travelled in the same time) so increasing the rpm can be done, but things like the gudgeon pins need to be looked at to make sure they can hack it.

Cheers,

Ben.

Hi Ben

Thats what i'm looking at. Using existing forged pistons and rods and then it would be a custom made crank.. This would keep the cost down considerably..
I am hoping to get it all sorted for between 5-6000 dollars..
It's not gonna be easy, but thats why i am putting in so much time trying to find pistons and rods that have already been made that would be suitable for our cars. Just trying to increase the perfomance car market for our cars.

2 members have had forged internals made for the 6a13tt, but the rest of the members haven't benefitted from it at all..

Bout time they got some of what they want :scholar:

Right

These are the Initial things i have been asked to supply

How much stroke do you want ?

Also what is the deck height? Compression Height of the piston that are in the motor now. The cc's of the cylinder head. The stock bore and stroke of the motor.

Glen I have kept quite on this one but having just discussed this with someone i will now post up

WRD and Eurospec having been working togethor for the last couple of months sourcing pistons's , rods etc etc . These have now been ordered and should be with us within the next month or so .

Once we have installed and tested these parts we will be posting all the info up on here so that members can discover the options and even get us to build an engine etc

Now back to your point Glen I would not even consider a stroker kit for our block as the costs would easily go into the 5-6000 pounds region by the time you have had the block machined and parts made .

Our block with the crank re-ground / nitrated and new rods / pistons should be good for over 600

not sure on pricing until we have got them over here ( depends on the exchange rate duty etc )

but once we have them installed more details will follow - just don't want to offer these out until we know the exact performance and the likes

bradc

to be honest I'm probably more keen on keeping the stock displacement and getting forged internals. John, are you doing anything to the crank, or is it strong enough?

bradc
24-05-2007, 10:48 PM
what sort of stroke are you looking at, something around the 90mm mark?

88mm=2721cc
89mm=2752cc
90mm=2783cc
91mm=2814cc
