I've never seen that dash before!

All later galants in the UK had the high-vis dash, even non-sport galants from 2001 onwards. There are variations for the 4-speed auto and so on also.

interesting. Were any manual ones available with higher than 180kmh markings?

Yes, I believe so. Ask any current Sport owners for confirmation, or wait a bit and I'll get some pics when I get my new car.

Going to look at it on saturday.

No, but I have a loan in place that will cover me to buy the GDI while finding a buyer for the GLS.

Sale of the GLS will repay part of the loan, and get some new tyres and some amsoil in the GDI.

I have plans, but if the car turns out to be a dog then it's no deal. That reminds me, forgot one question for the guy selling it...

I checked my dash on a manual 2003 V6-24 elegance and the markings go up to 260kmh/160mph.

:idea2: Got it! Increase the size of the loan, Isaac, and it'll cover me to buy the GLS from you! You can then use the extra money from the increase in the loan to then repay the cash that would would have got back from selling the GLS! A plan with no drawbacks! :deal2:
