Basically it sits of top of the gearstick and moves the gearstick into the right place to select a gear. Interesting concept.

I have looked into these quite a bit, some of the EVO boys have them. I may get one later in the year once the car is up and running....

The only thing I'm concerned about is that most of the models don't come with any indication of what gear you're in. It won't be an issue when moving, but at the lights or something it could get a bit confusing.

Yeah, good idea. I seen some sell at ok prices on the lancer forums, interesting stuff.

there is an optional electronic gear indicator that you can buy to go with it.

what does it give you other than pretending to be a squential box , you still have to use the clutch to change gear , unlike a real dog/sequential box

I think it is more of a toy than a real assest , if I was looking for something like this this I would want the clucth to engauge automatically when changing gear , oh wait thats like an Auto box

it basically will let you shift quicker, and make it impossible to fudge the 2 -> 3 change by ending up in 1st or 5th

We had one on our 67 mustang when we bought it and its a bitch for daily driving. Sorta fun on the straight, but that's it.
