I am taking a few weeks holiday shortly.

So I am looking for recommendations for B&B, Holiday Lets, Pub Hotels etc.

I am interested in all areas in England and Scotland.

Please let me know what places you have enjoyed the most.

ooooooooooof

So much choice.

It really depends on where... I can recommend good places from all over Scotland and a good few in the evil area down south...

Anymore accuracy on where you want to go?

West coast etc?

Axeboy,

Pretty open on Scotland areas.

I have my own Tax Consultany business which can be based most anywhere. I may have to go to London from time to time for client meetings etc.

I was thinking of staying in various places to see if I could live there permanently - Scotland is a strong possibility (father and his family are from Scotland).

So fire away.....:)

Dear Sir

For 'service' and 'good food' please look elsewhere.

These are not customary in the uk

Sincerely

2210 Miss Phmutt

Last year we went here:

http://www.auchenlarie.co.uk/AuchenlariePages/auchenlarieHome.htm

Nice park, we stayed in a static caravan. The site is family owned and has a lovely coastline to it. When we got there, we were unpacking when there was a knock at the door and one of the family welcomed us and presented us with a bottle of plonk as a 'Caravan Warming' gift! The bar and restaurant have a Eastern Eurpoean Chef and whilst the food is 'Pub Grub' it's nicely done. It is a popular park and so there's a lot of families with kids there. However, there's an 18+ only bar (at night) that was very quiet whilst we were there (during the world cup when England got kicked out!).

It's near Dumfries, just off the A74 (very close infact to the Historic battleground where several ClubVR-4 Members 'Educated' a certain BMW 328i! /Devil5). There's loads of ruins and places to visit, though that said we don't have kids to think about - not sure if you do, might be worth checking out the area first to see what's there if you do?

It's a bit of a hike to get to, but for peace, tranquility, a bit of poncy food and some amazing roads for a bit of a blat on, this place I stayed at last year was pretty cool

Thanks Kieran, I'll have a look.

I have taken the Stranraer to Larne ferry many times, so I have been in the Dumfries area.

No kids. :)

Yes, Skye is very nice - I spent a week there a few years ago.

I omitted Wales (spent a few days on Anglesey) only as it is not a likely candidate for a permanent move.
