View Full Version : Adding Cruise control?

My VR-4 doesn't have cruise control, I was thinking of buying a cheap galant that has a leather interior that I can swipe and then sell it on again. Just thinking if it's possible to add a cruise control system from another model of galant to the VR-4 and if so what would be needed?

I think someone found a way of retro-fitting a universal system, but I can't find it!! I can normally turn up threads by searching, but the one I am looking for eludes me.

Are you sure it was Cruise Control and not Paddle Shift :speechles:speechles

Pretty sure. I remember talk about it being connected to the vacuum system etc.

I think you are talking about Haydar, who was looking for levers to utilise for his flappy paddle system?

quite a few UK (non-VR4) cars have it, I don't beleive it was standard on any JDM spec cars.

Looks Standard same as the manual states

Yeah my GLS had it, was very handy. If you do find it let me know, even if it was paddle shifts as that's another thing I would be intregued to look at.

I just had a look and found the thread about the paddle shift, I'm interested, it's got my head churning away! Shame I'm about 4 years behind everyong else. Do you know if anyone achieved this? I see Haydar also posted a thread about adding cruise control but there was no replies to it.

I really miss cruise as my last 4 cars all had it. Would be v interested if a possibilty... they ususally run off the vacuum system i think..
