What kind of fuel consumption do you guys get with 2.0 engines with the manual box?

Any where from 27 to 36

my average over a year is just shy of 33

... a fair chunk less than Isaac seems to be getting out of his GDI

Patience Ade, patience. Remember those silly figures are based around motorway runs. In the daily grind I'm expecting 34-35, which is still a chunk better than my 2.0 GLS Auto was, but tbh the 2.0 is a nicer engine in ways (way it sounds, way it revs). I averaged 30mpg over 46000 miles in the 2.0 auto.

i get about 60 miles to a £10 round town in my sport estate.
this is roughly 28mpg on a run i get around 32mpg.
Not the best but it is a pretty heavy car i guess!

Just for comparison, my trips generally only last 15 mins each way in my V6, and I get about 27mpg with tesco's standard 95RON. I've started filling up with 99 now.

Hi Ritch

The 2.0 I had got, as stated above, about 60 miles out a tenner! Funny thing is my V6 also gets 60 miles out a tenner, on optimax, and its very rarely motorway driving.

I was getting about 50 miles to £10 with my 2.0 auto around town. I,m getting slightly more than that from my v6 sport, also auto.

Is it usual to get better mpg from a v6 than a 2.0 as I always thought that my 2.0 was thirstier than it should have been.

The V6 and the 2.0 are about the same on efficiency...

Anthony - £30 / 1.019 = 29.44 litres of fuel = 6.48 gallons
255 / 6.48 = 39.35mpg
