I contacted Camskill at beginning of the year about Head Gaskets.. They said they had two on order  And would be putting it up in the For Sale section for Legnums soon..
Looks like they forgot /pan

Also there price was summat silly like £35 each or summat like that :speechles

So i would give them a call in the morn and ask them :scholar:

hi do you need just head gasket or all the gaskets for the head.

If you take the heads off, then you will need exhaust manifoldgasket x2, turbo gasket x2, inlet gasket, rocker cover gasket x2, cam seal x4, spark plug tops x6, plus a couple of other gaskets. total cost £300ish you can get these from camskill. i did and it was worth it as they come as a complete kit imported from japan mitsi part number on and everything. i bought mine in Feb 07 and the guy at camskill said he would buy 10 lots to maximise postage etc. so i probably paid the lion share of the postage cost for all 10 sets.

get the alloy head skimmed while you are there (if it over heated it is probably warped) and get them to do at least a water check on the valve seat to make sure they don't leak.
But expect a heavy bill to get all the work done.

oh buy the way if you going to get the head gasket done get the cam belt and water pump and tensioners done as well. the cambelt has got to come off to do the heads anyway.
hope this help
Dave

by the way when i said big bill it was about £1000 including parts (£300 Gaskets + £170 for cam bet kit wter pmp tentioners, etc. + the rest for doing the job.
which when you break it done isn't that bad. I got it done at RE Performance in Bury (via friend recomendation they are Jap import specialist, but not VR4 specialist like WRD) not my best desision i have ever made. they made some fundimental error whilst fixing my car but fair dues to them, they did put it right, eventually.

Hi, ta for all the info, I am just pricing up as I am loosing water somewhere at the mo, (could be a hose or something , but nothing visible, so I'm thinking internal!), did the cam belt and plugs recently so I may get away without a full gasket set. I am going to have a good look this weekend to see what nick it's in etc, again ta for all the info.

I was losing water for a year after I bought my car. A year ago the radiator finally started spraying so I could see it. A replacement radiator and I no longer lose water. Just thought that may give you hope that it isn't a head gasket problem!

Ive just had to buy a complete engine gasket set, which isnt cheap. I wonder if its worth approaching a re-manufacturer in the UK to see if we can get them made up/improved.

the head gasket i got from camskill genuine mitsi parts did not look that great.

even the guy who fitted the said the looked a bit thin and flimsy, he said the head gaskets he usually fit on other cars are made up from more plys of metal. think the mitsi ones are about 4 ply and for other cars he seem to think 6 or more was about average.

not sure if more plys are better, maybe someone can elaberate.

cheers dave

I fitted an uprated Klinger head gasket on my 620ti and that had 3 plys ...

I have never seen a VR-4 head gasket though.
