Hi all just wondering as to what the standerd 97 legnum vr4 turbos are set at. ie when do they kick in? and is there any way to ajust this?

if you have a full exhaust setup they can build boost at 2000rpm without any problems. If you want to get the turbos doing more the best things are a full exhaust system and a boost controller.

it has a standard exhaust currently. But say if i wanted to make it start at a higher boost ie 3 or 4000rpm could i adjust it?

you can adjust that with a good electronic boost controller,
the basic ones only let you set the max boost desired.

the advanced ones let you controll when its to start boosting and how fast you want it to gain/increase to maxium boost,
but they are not cheap, anywhere from around $500-$1000 depending on make and if its a self install or not,


and factory boost is around 8-10psi,

a standard vr4 will achive this by 3000-3500 rpm

you dont want to raise when the boost happens because the turbos are VERY small and run out of puff by 5500rpm.

Are you trying to do that to give you better fuel economy? You don't need to worry about doing that, just accelerate slower and you can get great fuel economy.
