exhaust back box.

Hi all,

Can anyone give me details on the back box connection to the main exhaust.

i have an after market back box that needs some welding doing on it so i bought a ralliart back box but the attachment flange is different.

ralliart 98 back box 3 nut fixing.

my back box 2 nut fixing.

i am interested in finding out which is the standard one. I don't know if my cat back exhaust is original or not. can someone post a pic of the standard back box connection to the cat back bit of the exhaust.

That's weird. Well, my standard prefacelift back box was three bolts. I too retrofitted a Ralliart backbox and that was three nut too. In fact so was my V6 Sport (UK model).

sounds like the original back box flange was cut off...

probabilly due to rust... had that prob on my 25ST when i changed the rear muffler.

yeh that is probably what has happened.

i want to be able to fit either or back boxes so i imagine i will have to make up some kind of mating flange/section.

i will take a couple of pic tomorrow and you can see for yourself the chalenge i am up against.
