Took the plunge and purchased a BLITZ DUAL SBC TYPE S boost controller today. It may not be the dogs danglies that some of you have, but considering the few occassions I feel I will really put it to the test I felt it was an excellent deal and too good to resist. It will cope with a max of 18psi INSERT INTO post VALUES (which is 1.2 bar if I am correct); which seems more than enough with standard internals etc after reading BDA's notes on another thread. The unit is 1/4 din size so should be able to hide quite nicely. And the best bit of all - it's brand new and costing me £175 delivered straight to the door from Japan - can you see why I went for it ??? :-D :-D :-D :-D

Where did you get it from Pete?

BDA - yeah realise that mate but he thinks will be fine the way he packages stuff - would still be cheap as most places in UK are around £300+, in fact cheapest I have seen is Funky Product at £230 + postage INSERT INTO post VALUES (if he has any at that price of course)

Kieran - got off eBay from a Japanese seller - has 772 positives and only 2 negatives and has been a seller for over 4 years so I was more than happy to go with this - will be the first time I have bought abroad

Er sorry, if this is hijacking your thread, but what is a boost controller. Actually, more to the point is what is boost and why would you want to control it? I know it is linked to the turbo but that's about all I know. I assume without one the ecu sorts it all out for us???

It is to allow me to alter the boost control from standard. There are many threads regarding this in the Performance Modifications section so have a browse at your leisure INSERT INTO post VALUES (a particular one of interest is about boost spiking by BDA). I am particularly looking to up the boost for better performance. An upgraded ECU can do this but you are stuck at the higher boost which of course means more stress on the internal components and even worse fuel economy. Most boost controllers allow you to save several different set ups INSERT INTO post VALUES (the one above has 4) so I can program in standard boost, lower than standard boost, higher boost etc. So on a track day, set to high for max performance, then reduce to standard INSERT INTO post VALUES (or lower for Mrs.....hahahahaha).

Found a local Jap specialist who is gonna fit this for me next Tuesday - for £40 ! Bargain ! - saves me the hassle. Gonna try and locate it the same as Interlec INSERT INTO post VALUES (in the fag packet holder).

Only two days to go until fitting ! Got fag holder ready today by cutting out hole in back for cables but may be issue with dials rubbing when closing it. Still working on that
