Impressive mate, but put me out of my misery, is that a gdi or V6? Think ST-r is 4WD is it not?

just normal 91 octane.

the car is running on 15w40 according to the sticker, last changed 14000km ago, it has original spark plugs, a very dirty air filter, and I have no idea what the tyre pressures are like! Once I get all of those sorted out I'm aiming for 6.99l/100km :D

91 Octane!! That's a bit fortnight isn't it?

I'm doing 42/44mpg in the dieseasel still, but I reckon i'm going a fair bit faster than you are.

fortnight?? must be a pommy saying :)

I'm spending most of my time at 110kmh, with about 50km of that tank in around town driving, an hour or so in stop-start traffic and about 100km of 50-90kmh driving in traffic on a motorway.

Fortnight (in this context) means 'Too Weak'

My fuel consumption has massively reduced since I started cycling to work ... :scholar:

Wodj, I can't see that happening with this one even if I try really hard and just have myself in it, but we'll see.

mine changes depending on where i fill up

sainsburys,tesco,murco all give 120 miles for £20

bp gave me 220 miles for 30 quid last week, bonza! shame its specific to the station as i fille dup in rugby with the bp performance stuff and got worse mpg than the standard stuff

probably confusing the ecu

RugbyPete

ok, im doing 30.7mpg to and from work, great stuff, and thats with the odd 100mph+ boost

goes down to 26mpg if i flaw it everywhere and on short trips

Got 35.5 mpg driving 85ish all the way from the lake district to home when i got it

15w-40 huh? I'm on 5w-30 and the car gets better mpg with oil age... i'll let you know how i get on with the 10w-40 coming soon. Doesn't make sense but something likes these conditions! Any amsoil 0w-40 drivers getting 35mpg?? :D Ooo now I've done it ;)

Well, Skarloey managed 48mpg on the last tank. Oh, and yes, he has Amsoil's fully synthetic Heavy Duty Diesel Oil in him. Oh, and their GL4 Spec gear lube in his gearbox.:2thumbsup

Any Brontosaurus-oiled V6 owners out there care to beat that?! :vulcan: /pan /pan

The Pug normally averages around 45-50mpg over the tankful  And thats chugging along in the 80's and 90's.. :pimp2:

If i stay at 60-65mph then i'm up arund 55-60mpg. This on 50 mile journeys and a bit of town driving.. I'm pretty sure if i had a 200mile journey, i could get it up around the 65+ mpg :scholar:

yeah, but you'd still be driving a Pug ;)

You could run into problems if you are running the VR-4 on 91!, do a quick search on octane, and check the info on knock. Under boost, 91 wont really hold up well enough.

Iv switched to 98 shortly after shell moved from 96 to 95, and you really can notice the difference in terms of the pick up, and sound of the engine.

but improvement in fuel economy:thinking: ....not so much:inquisiti

I've been putting 91 through the STR without a problem, I will move to 95 soon and see what happens though.
