I don't think your selling them too cheap, but supply and demand means you control the market at the moment. You could easily bump up the price another 20 dollars maybe and still catch some fish.

Of course us CVR4 members would still appreciate the normal price :D.

Dam right CVR4 members will only pay normal price.

woodeye
12-08-2007, 08:30 AM
I can do them in white Gelcoat or black Gelcoat and for CVR4 members i can
have them primed in 2 pak epoxy primer for no extra charge.

The cheapest way for such a small item to be painted is to purchase a touch up spray can for $11.95 from repco or supercheap auto etc.

If your car was hamilton silver iam getting some other parts painted next week and will be painting a few sets then.

Vented gaurds would be wicked, but I can't bring myself to do any damage to my current ones. Looking forward to see the pics.

........Also I am in the process on making vented guards will post pics soon.

What style vents..........anything like either of these??????

Type A:
19238

or these
Type B:
19237

Would be interested in either as I sure others would be too..........

Note though, both these appear to be on pre-facelift cars and facelift owners (like me) will need to know if our wheel arch extensions will fit onto these new guards and whether our tires will clear the guard edge. /Grrr

Just a thought and something you will need to be aware of......../pan

if the guards are standard fit for pre-facelift, all you should need to do is put the holes into the fiberglass to mount the arch extensions.

Ideally of course, custom guards would be a little wider anyway and wouldn't need the extensions...

Kenneth, isn't the inner edge of the facelift guards (under the arch extension) either slightly cut or rolled compared to the pre-facelift.......?

I agree, would be really nice if the new vented guards were just that little bit wider, not enough to look bigger, but just enough to run 235s on 8" rims, lower the car and be sure there wasn't any rubbing..........that would be good.

I don't think there is really much in it in the end... mostly looks.

Not too keen on the second one. Looks like one of those plastice carbon fibre imitation rivot on vents that you can buy at super cheap.

Ok I am designing them around the first picture BUT i have not put pen to paper
yet so any designs are welcome. They will be modified from my std perface lift guards and them taken a mould from there.

the top ones are fine, or you could try for the new HSV style grills at the side, just make them a wee bit more subtle and further up on the guard.

Ryan
15-09-2007, 04:52 AM
I agree - Option A would be my choice.

Like Brad said about Option B... hairdresser car :P or maybe a bad attempt at those Quattroporto gills on the Maserati

The picture of (colinjones) doesnt follow the curve of the wheel arch but the white legnum does and looks better. As i have a non face legnum i don't have wheel arch flares (would like them) can you let me know how wide the flares are so i don't get the vent to close to the arch it seft. If i had a set of wheel arch flares i also could mould these for myseft and others too.

cheers

Mike

i did a quick mask up to see what they look like. Now at the bottom
do you want it to step in or just flush tapering inwards to the top.
Also how deep do you want it?

I like the style of the one that the guy with the white Legunm has done, your one looks more like the vent is on the top section, rather than on the side facing the front!

woodeye
15-09-2007, 08:56 AM
Ok can you take a side picture of your car and draw the style (length and width).

Do you want the vent line along the Swage line of the car or a little lower?

I found another picture is this the same style?

I like the vents on this http://images.google.co.nz/imgres?imgurl=http://www.km77.com/marcas/renault/2006/clio/rs/gra/21.jpg&imgrefurl=http://ueba.com.br/forum/lofiversion/index.php/t22642.html&h=768&w=1024&sz=170&hl=en&start=26&tbnid=MFlSQA58gRnufM:&tbnh=113&tbnw=150&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dclio%2B197%26start%3D20%26imgsz%3Dxxl arge%26gbv%3D2%26ndsp%3D20%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den% 26sa%3DN

Here is a pic of my car showing off the wheel arch flares.

I think that the hole shouldn't be right on the outside of the car though, like on that white Legnum the hole should be further in to the centre of the car, kind of like on that renault
