My car has gone in for it's recalls finally! I have been trying to get mitsi to sort this for 3 months!

I have been given the dirtiest Lancer ever! It's pretty new but it has not been cleaned since it left the showroom.

It drives ok for 1.6 but it feels vey plastic, the one good thing about it is the brakes, it stops very very quickly.

I'm in a 56 1.6 estate at the moment whilst bottom-end of Shogun sprot gets rebuilt. Agree - Very plastic, very "stoppy" and being very thrashed!!

I love the way the tyres SCREAM when they see a round about!

Now what did that celeb visitor say on top gear?

"There is nothing as fast as a rental car" /haz

Not quite a rental, but the same applies.

Ah yes!!

Had it's service six weeks back and they noticed a 'knocking' coming from the bottom end. Took it back a week later and that's where it's been since.

It would appear the crank's a couple of microns warped and therefore some abnormal wear on the shell bearings. Requires a replacement bottom-end basically at a cost of around 5k.

Now this is where it gets good. Warranty doesn't cover labour:thinking: , and the warranty company didn't want to shoulder the full cost as they felt that Mitsi UK should share the burden seeing as the engine has only covered 17k miles. So the very very very nice lady at Mitsi Reading (who was probably a Rottweiler in a previous life) got on the case and emerged with a good and proper result. Mitsi UK are supplying parts to warranty Co at cost, and also waiving all labour costs.

Should get it back tomorrow
