Does anyone have any idea weather he had to carry out internal mod's to accomodate 400 horse or is the engine capable stock standard

the engine is capable of handling that much, but the turbos are at about 110% of their capacity at 400hp.

well thats good to know! means there's plenty of room to tinker around with then. I've heard a rumer of a vr4 in japan putting out 800 hp there's supposed to be a video of it floating around on the net. Has anyone seen this?

There was a Vr-4 with 2 TD-05's that put out 550hp, it was prepped by Jun. Don't know of any 800hp VR-4's - unless you're talking about a 6G with an EVO engine.

as I say it's only a rumour. Sounds like a bit of a myth, saw some guys talking about it on an american site.

Yea that's what I would of thought, can get 800 suposedly out of a gto, but the dude had a pic of a galant, so I assumed they were talking about galant's. The more I think about it the more improbable it seems. But I suppose anythings possible these days. with enough money and willingness to rebuild everytime you use it. lol

you can't swap the USDM 6G72 from the GTO/3KGT... they are turned completely opposite from the Galant version... but it is possible to get 800 from the 6A13TT... you would need to bore and stroke to at least 3 litres, port/polish, upgraded/forged internals... and one huge turbo...

Yea I read a guy talking about that, He seemed to really know his stuff. Reckoned the engine can go to 500 stock , but with some work it could be turned into a monster. That was posted on a site about three years ago.

Pity, cause it seemed to go dead after that, he had just finished blowing the skyline followers out of the water over how the skyline was a weaker motor, isn't as reliable at high horse ratings, due to the alloy blocks and chaneling in them that tends to split.

I personally think anything over 400 is worthless when wanting to use your car on anything other than a drag strip , but hey whatever makes peoples boats float! Still on the trail of this phantom machine though!
