I need to change the plugs and leads on my V6 Sport and have been quoted just over £100 inc VAT for 6 long life platinum plugs and leads. Is this a good price? If not any suggestions where else I can get them?

plugs - sparkplugs.co.uk are the best uk source for NGK. Part is BKR6EIX-11 at £5.50 each + VAT (this is the upgrade iridium plug, which is cheaper than the standard plug... no I don't understand either)

Leads - Try your local stockist of ADL blueprint parts. A set for my GLS was £35. I've no idea how much the leads for the V6 will be.

The leads I got quoted for from CES Motor Factors were £46 + VAT and the plugs about £6.70 + VAT each not sure on the make of either though.

Isaac, would you or anyone else for that matter know what the plug number is for the GDI, Iridium that is, nobody around here seems to know for sure. thanks RF

The GDI must only use NGK IZFR5B - this plug was designed for the GDI, and is only used in the 2.0 and 2.4 GDI engines. They're expensive at £51 for 4 (delivered). I changed mine this week and the old ones were in much better shape than I expected, so inspect yours before ordering - they seem to last well. I'm keeping my old set as spares because they have useful life left in them (which couldn't be said for the platinum ones that came out of my GLS).

I thought it might be useful to update this thread.

My local Mitsi dealer wanted £106.03 (inc VAT) for 6 x PFR6G-11 plugs.

He was adamant that BKR6E1X plugs were not an option for the V6. So I bought the latter from sparkplugs.co.uk for £5.90 + VAT each. Plus £5.40 for RMSD. :)
