If you are buying from Keighley, the best advise I can give is to go in with an open mind and be prepared to walk away as you would a private seller.

Some members have bought their cars from KTC and had no problems however others have had a nightmare of a time...

Just be careful.

Oh and /Welcome

Inclined to agree...I know of one good, faultless VR-4 that came from Keighley. The rest have all been trouble, or have had chequered pasts!

Welcome to Club VR-4

I think the car you are refering to from KTC has been mentioned here before - is it the P reg saloon but facelift body kit / pre facelift wheels / alarm bells are ringing car?

If you're going to go, see if anyone here will go with you who knows these cars WELL. They're not cheap to fix and there are a few things that could be only obvious someone who's well aquinted with these cars.
KTC have a lot going against them, so make a decision using your HEAD not your HEART and be prepared to walk away.

I purchased a Vr-4 saloon from Keighley over 2 years ago, it did have teething problems as in warped discs which were rectified and new pads, but other than that it was tidy.

I have to say this car has never let me down, 100% reliability and is used for work daily. I am thinking of selling it regretfully as I am going through a divorce - any tips.

Put some pics and description in the "classified" on here would be a start.

are manuals really that hard to find in UK ? i found so many manuals when i was searching japan the problem was i wanted tan leather and a dark colour blue or purple. i got all i wanted within a few months of starting to look, i say take your time if your patient you will find what you want.

The problem is that they can only import cars that are older than 10 years, so it's limits their import options.

Don't you mean they can't import cars older than 10 years?

Don't you mean they can't import cars older than 10 years?

...nope:afro: Weird aye, but i think the plan was to cut down the number of middle aged imports (and send them all to NZ instead:P), so they have to go through main dealers, or wait until they are old enough to import.. ie, 97s are just becoming available now..

no, for some silly reason, you have to import cars that are older than 10 years over there.

Only for cars with no 'model report' or that would not pass our Enhanced Single Vehicle Approval test..... the VR4 bombs this on emissions, cars over 10 years old dont have such a strict test so this is what limits us to the 10 year thing...... unless you are part of the Keighley massif :inquisiti

It is possible to import brand new cars from Japan with the right bits of paper in place - there are plenty of orders being taken for the new JDM Civic Type R coupe from UK importers
