how much do you think it will increase your bhp, and about how much did it cost ya.

the rev's still idel between 600+700 it's got a nice growl i'd say the pick up is smooth'r ive not noticed if their is any diff on fuel as i don't count my mile's per gallon you can buy a K,N panel fillter for about £35.00 ,ive never had the car on a rolling road so i don't know if it help's with BHP i think my next job,s will be to de-cat and get a nice pair of big back boxes, and maybe a power boost valve.also today INSERT INTO post VALUES (friday) ive been in touch with a local specialist about a super chargerINSERT INTO post VALUES (only inquired) to much ££££ me think's he'll price it and let me know next week.

PS the dixie horn's don't do anything for the power!!!!LOL, i bought them to put in a classic granada but ive not got 1 yet, seen a few but need to much work.

Ian a supercharger will cost in xs of £3K - at least!

How do you find the drilled airbox in the summer? I would be concerned about hot air getting drawn infrom the engine bay...INSERT INTO post VALUES (I had done this on a golf and it didnt like it!)

what about a heatshield between the engine and airbox to keep it cooler?

hi rich it has been fine in the summer i also have hole's INSERT INTO post VALUES (8) drilled to the under side of the box and the "ram air" style flexy pipe ive added should also help with cold air,ive seen a kit for a DIY super charger that was £995.00 but i don't think it's something i could fit, i was just being nosie as i'd heard it was the best way to get more power for your ££££ i,ll get back with a price when ive heard from the tuner's.

Also be careful of water being funneled up the tube and into your air box, make sure the holes you've drilled at the bottom could be used to cope with drainage if water does enter the box... very extreme it may be but always a possbility.

See the FTO site for air filters etc

http://www.ftooc.org/contents/pages/project/filter.htm

they got 7bhp from a Momo panel filter and drilled airbox

also the best bolt on unit was HKS £24 approx - they were using a plastic intake pipe - not an alloy or stainless steel pipe
I remember Chris from Funky Products saying that the intake on the galant was the same as certain FTOs - i dont see why the bolt on ones wouldn't just bolt on....

tempting!
