Got the basics sorted as follows:

Pioneer head unit with 6.5" motorised screen and CD player
Seperate DVD player for 2nd DIN slot
Kenwood 800w amp
Sony 12" sub
Two 6" screens for headrests
Infra red headphones INSERT INTO post VALUES (for rear passengers)

All the above is ordered and will be here this week, then just got to install it. Not decided on speakers yet - can anyone confirm the size of them as not had chance to measure them yet.

Ooooh that sounds expensive!!!! My install is just about finished INSERT INTO post VALUES (took me 3 weeks!) I still have a few noise problems to sort out and I may upgrade the factory speakers but so far it has only cost about £450. I am very pleased with it!

Let me know how you get on with the speakers!

I am very interested in this as I have been dying to install a TV/DVD system in my Legnum. I will enjoy following your postings.

Well those of you who have met Sharon INSERT INTO post VALUES (the wife) will understand how much she loves the VR4. When we spoke about changing the ICE she said she did not see the point of just upgrading the music side of it and if we were going to do it then lets get the screens/DVD too - how lucky am I !!!!!!!

Mo - just looked on Pioneer's website and for a 4 door Galant INSERT INTO post VALUES (1/96 on) they state they are 13cm speakers ???? Is that UK and Jap spec is different ?

me thinks they have got it wrong, dont forget we didnt have 8g galants in 1996, also ive just changed my rear speakers and 16.5 slotted almost straight in.

I've changed the rears on the legnum. Assuming they use the same as the 4 door Mo is right.

Thanks guys - can anyone confirm if the front door speakers are the same size ?

Looks like Pioneer only do 16cm or 17cm speakers, not 16.5cm. What would you recommend guys instead then ?

Cheers

Pete

My Infinity's are 16cm. They were awkward to fit, so I would say go for 17's. I think the fronts are the same size, but I haven't played with those. Don't forget the fronts are component speakers as well. The front door speaker doesn't have a tweeter - that is mounted up by the wing mirror.
