Could you put up some pics for me, especially of the rear quarter from the back straight on would be nice. Trying to confirm how the tyres should sit in relation to the outer edge of the guards.

Thanks in advance!

I run Evo 7 Wheels & Tyres (Yoko 235/45ZR17 97Y AVS Sport) on my Pre-facelift legnum. It looks the same as the pictures above. However looking down from above at the front you can see about 3-4mm of tread which technically is a no-no I believe (in the UK anyway). Luckily mine have worn bald on the shoulders because my tracking was out but it might create an issue if Plod is being strict.

Im thinking about getting some evo 7 rims for my 97 galant VR4. Just wondering if i would have much trouble with rubbing on the guards if i lowered the car?

cheers

If you lower the car then you will need to roll the guards. Once you do that you won't have any problems at all

I am halfway through lowering mine with Daiyama coilovers (done the fronts - waiting for a free weekend to do the backs). The front has dropped by ~45mm and I don't have any rubbing on my Evo wheels even though they are proud of the arches. The coilovers use 10 kg/mm springs at the front which don't seem that much firmer than stock either.

Depends on how fast you hit the speed bumps!
