The Jap-Spec ones don't usually have a pollen filter, but there's an easy way to check...

Open your glovebox and on the left, the plastic 'stay' is detachable. You slide it to release... Difficult to describe without a picture, but the weight of the glovebox forces it into it's 'engaged' position, so move it the other way. It's easy - you'll work it out when you see it.

Swing the glovebox to the floor and it exposes the Fan/Cooler assembly. The white box on the left is the fan and the black box is the cooler unit. The Pollen filter (if fitted) will be near the joint between the fan and the cooler assembly, on the cooler side - But I am 90% sure you won't have one - I don't think any of the Jap-Spec ones have.

No. The Jap spec cars don't have the aperture for the pollen filter there, it's not a 'blank', it's not cast into the housing. Quite an odd descision in my book, considering how polluted some areas of Japan are.
