Would a 98 Mitsubishi legnum air flow meter & bits from an 1800cc galant fit straight onto a 96 vr4 to replace the pod filter? Or is it better to fit one from a vr4?

I would have though the AFM's readings wouldnt be much use, unless the meters were identical! A VR4 will flow a lot more air than an 1800GDI. Perhaps someone more in the know will be along shortly?

the black plastic air intake pipe is similar, but subtly different for the turbo models. You don't want to use it!
As for the MAF, I have no idea, but you don't need to use it anyway, all you're after is the cold air box and the plastic feed.

So if I remove the pod filter I should be able to connect the plastic filter box straight on? Is the plastic filter box the same size on the 1800cc as the VR4 as I want to upgrade the panel filter once I can find a cheap filter box. I already have the cold air feed part that comes from the bonnet - just need the box and the fittings to attach it where the pod filter is.

There is some differences. The bottom of the box. But i think it will fit.
