87 vr4 diganotiscs info needed asap :)

can someone please tell me how to do ihis
I only have a digital multimeter and i'm confused on how to read it.
I'm used to toyotas where we get our two diagnostic pins and just short them together and blink goes the check engine light.
Can i get the vr4 check engine light to flash also?
can i short the pins together on the vr4?

edit: so i found an led tester and here is what im getting from it
turn key to on get initial blink
then very quick
flash flash flash flash flash
flash flash flash flash flash
flash flash flash flash flash
pause
flash flash
then it repeats

any ideas?

I believe there is information in the members section on fault codes. For the price of the membership fee, you would be able to access so much information. Well worth the price.

as we are a mainly 8G series of vr4s (96-02 shape)
not sure how the 6g (87-92) vr4 works or what there codes relate too.
