mines not a tiptronic and only a 2.5 v6

Just out of interest, how difficult is it replacing the complete triptronic gearbox? Sounds like a really hard job for qualified mechanics.

hmmm manuals are like rocking horse poo. Ive got 2 but had to bring one over from NZ, the 2nd Ive just bought as a spare.

would appeared to have stripped the slines on the torque convertor

Aha. So new input shaft and new TC required. Make sure both parts are done - people who have only changed one or the other soon had the problem again.

I would have thought that could be repaired rather than requiring a new box though?
