Need transfer box for Legnum 2500cc ST-R

Hello,
I am a new member. Recently the pinion gear in the transfer box just packed up. The mechanics discovered that the previous owner of the legnum 2500cc ST-R manual 5 speed gear didn't refill the transfer box with oil. I need help getting a second hand transfer box. Please help.

not sure if it is the same as the VR4 box , but the STR is even harder to come by than the VR4

Whats you chasis number and I will compare the VR4 versus the STR on caps

Chassis number is EC5W - 0009630. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Hope it works

Kempys in New Zealand seem to be good at finding and shipping parts. I have never used them, but there are people on here who have.

STR transfer case assembly === MD748274 - w4a4 - gearbox
VR4 transfer case assembly === MD748268 - w5a5 , w5m5 gearboxes

From the output of the caps info it looks like they are not the same so you challenge may be even harder

Also there is not a breakdown of the internals of the transfer box so I do not know if you can just get the failed part from Mitsy

There was a manual ST-R at a wreckers in NZ here, if not Kempys are the best place to try.

I really don't know much about the car, the last time I saw it was about 3 months ago, so the transfer case has probably gone by now anyway!
