What's happened to the 1/4 mile showplace? When I clicked on it, it comes up with a page error. Im keen to see what times everyone is running.

Been like that for a while , Barry was looking in to it but he has n't had time yet

So a gentle nudge given it's the last UK show of the year at Santa Pod this weekend

not saying until it's fixed ( only cos I'm have not run this year but thought it would push em a little ) and putting 12 down does draw attention :p

Okay, I'll pick this one up...

Nutter_John
06-02-2008, 12:26 AM
Thanks K , even if we just wipe the old scores given they were lost in the db crash

I'm sure there will be some very interesting runs this year and 12's or even 11's may become the more normal , and if we are very lucky someone may even go into the 10 's

I'm looking now... All I need to do is try and find the old Timeslip database.... :book:

Kieran

Right. This one is gonna take a little while to work out. Probably will be easier to start again with this modification.

Will keep you posted.

Okay, standby peeps.... Please note the forum may cough and splutter whilst I re-tune the mixture.... If you get kicked off it shouldn't be for very long, I am keeping an eye on things whilst I meddle....

Yipee!! I've almost fixed it!!:afro:

Okay guys - the timeslips page is working again - BUT please don't submit any data at the moment as it's not recording the times correctly. Once I've sussed that it should be good to go. :book:

My time has gone in. I'll have to update it tonight, though, as I haven't got the slip with me! The ET is right for the 1/4, but the rest is guesses!

At the risk of annoying his GL-Holynes-S, what about displaying power & torque with RPMs and an extra upload for a dynograph?

The mod isn't supported/being developed anymore so I think that's a non-starter for now. The version compatible with later versions of VB might have more features, but I don't know. The problem is the mod is effectively 'As is' and any tweaks would have to be coded in - A bit of a minefield and not something that I really have the L33tness to do!

Nice work Kieran ... I have added an entry but as per Nick have to check the values at home tonight.

Added all the details.

My timeslip has got data for 3 decimal places on the ETs. But the forum keeps rounding them to two. It didn't do that before? I know because I got a 13.806 and at the same meet, Wouter got a 13.809 in Mo's 6g. The database used to show the third figure, but now it rounds it to 13.81.

Sorry to moan and sound unnapreciative! :P

Oh, that's cool - I can correct that. I had to play about with the formatting of the data tables in the VB database. I'll sort that now.:scholar:

I appear to be (very briefly, I'm sure!) at the top of the 1/4 mile database! And the ONLY person with a timeslip to prove it.....

Quick one for you guys,

A couple of the other forums i go on have a 1/4 mile cup or similar. They do it for various reasons, some to encourage more people to track ther cars on the basis that it pushes the platform publically, which in turn helps with aftermarket support- more tuning parts etc. It also gets people to the track events and so encourages them to develop their skills and mods, which then helps make the community 'faster' as a whole.

The GTo owners club has the ollie burton memorial cup- one of the members sons- ollie- was knocked off his scooter and killed. Ollie was well into his 1/4's and they set up the cup in his memory.

3SI has the x second grand prize fund. Unfortunately the fund had only got to $25 when they went from 9's to 8's! The 9 sec prize fund was pretty chunky though if i recall.

Just an idea.

Cheers,

Ben.

PS we'll sponsor a prize if you like :-)

A very generous offer and one I will certainly put forwards in the next committee meeting.

Just one thing, though. Part time employees cars are automatically disqualified! :P

CANDEE - are you trying to attach an image? I got mine in by using the CVR4 uploader and then inserting the URL in to the timeslip field.

The uploader is found by clicking "new reply" and then the red button at the top left of the post box. (Does that make sense?)
