Nope not seen these before. Good find Pete. Still think it's got the look of an Alfa. Dash looks a bit bland as well IMO:thinking:

Just for those who maybe interested the article and review of the new Lancer EVO X below appeared in yesterdays NZ Herald.

Very tasty piece of equipment if I do say so my self.........../rally

And it's come to New Zealand first too..................mmmmmmmmm

Well I'm starting to save now..............just found $3.60 in my pocket. Well it's a start......../pan /Grrr

Anyway here are some scans of the article. It was laid out in a funny shape/arrangement in the paper so wasn't easy to scan. Sorry it's all disjointed.

Enjoy :pimp2:

Still right up there in my "What I want next" list. But are those pictures not the prototype? Which tbh I thought looked better than the production model I saw pictured elsewhere.

to me it looks like a cross between an r34 skyline, and aston martin and an alfa from the front. and a renault laguna with a spoiler on from the back.

quite nice at the front then!

Don't like it at all! Think it has lost all of the original evo features.

Still think it's got the look of an Alfa.

I agree, no Evo features whatsoever....

GSR is the luxury one (for daily driving) and RS is the Rally one (you strip it out and add your own stuff to make it ready to race.)

Always Mitsubishi give ugly body kit in the first edition. So they can give better one next years.

Any how i feel that I will miss my lovely galant if I got new Evo. So I am very happy with my Galant .

If I can't get the EVO X/rally I'll get the VR-X as a compromise.

2006 Lancer VR-X = 115kw/5750rpm, 220Nm/3500, 1305kg (2378cc)
2007 Lancer VR-X = 115kw/6000rpm, 201Nm/4250, 1385kg (1998cc)

Looks as if the older model may be slightly faster, but the new one better looking.

Outgoing Galant Range for comparision

2002 Galant GLS = 100kw/6000rpm, 178Nm/4500, 1260kg (1997cc)
2002 Galant VR-24 = 120kw/5750rpm, 223Nm/4500, 1320kg (2498cc)
2002 Galant VR-4 Type-V = 205kw/5500rpm, 363Nm/4000, 1480kg (2498cc Twin-Turbo)
2002 Galant VR-4 Type-S = 205kw/5500rpm, 363Nm/4000, 1550kg (2498cc Twin-Turbo)

I read in AutoCar magazine (here in the UK) that at the worldwide launch in Japan, journalists asked the engineers who worked on this and other Evos to name their favourite Evo (mechanically) from the last 15 years and they all plumped the Evo VI Tommi Makinen limited edition version.

Big split in opinion. Like it or Hate it, it seems.

I think the new lancer has definitely regained something that was lost in the triton, outlander and early 380's. The series 3 380 is pretty hot though. I would buy one.

My ultimate car would be an evo eight with an evo 10 engine though,.

It would have to be the evo 6.5 tme for me as well.
