My spare 6A13TT is being built up as we speak, the plan is to:

Regrind + balance Cams
Upgrade valve springs
6x 560cc evo injectors
balance the crank
forged pistons and rods
bored to 82.5mmx80.8mm = 2592cc
Port and Polish Heads
Install the variable cam gears from Zentac

the plan is to build it for 600hp/8000rpm and only run it up to 500hp/7000rpm. Should be done in like 6 months or so!

Good luck bud! I have a couple of those upgrades (Port/polish, small overbore) and my car seems to produce more torque than many others. Let's hope you notice the difference too.

Nice! Im jealous, big engine build for me is still a loooong way away. Where did you get the forged pistons and rods from?

Nick - my car already makes close to 600nm torque, remember I have no boost cut, so I'm hitting 20psi at like 3500rpm! I don't think these mods will give me much more power at all, the turbos are already the choke point. But this will give me a good strong engine to put GT2554R's or TD05's, or similar onto.

Oblivion - all custom made

haha no, it's going into the VR-4 along with the twin plate clutch :)

The BMW is rare and collectable so it is going to be kept stock apart from an exhaust system and maybe wheels. I just can't wait to hear it's thunderous V12 engine!

strap two forged 6a13s together and have a quad turbo W12 :P

I could put 4 td03's onto the BMW, it would be 1.4 litres spooling each TD03 so it would have wicked spoolup and be able to make a ton of power!

Are you building the forged engine for drag racing or something like superlap? I'd love to see it in action!

no, just normal driving in the purple VR-4

Oblivion

Nooooo...... all that effort just for 'normal' driving?! But then again I'd think you dont drive as normal people do huh lol. Id suspect you catch out a few unsuspecting WRX's at the track...... :P

my main bait so far has been altezza's. I get off the line from about 1000rpm without dumping the clutch, get up to 3000rpm in first at the same pace as them, then just nail it and grab 2nd gear once I hit 6000rpm, and leave them miles behind :)

Altezza's?! What a bully haha :D I've managed to take down a Evo 7 running extra boost and a old square shape VR4 with an HKS TO4Z turbo :D :D
Who made the pistons and rods for you?

The pistons and rods are being organised by Gary Capper, not too sure who is actually making them though.

The engine is still sitting there, just waiting for money from me to get it completed. I've been spending money on other things

Get it sorted and stop drooling over pictures of Alloy wheels for the BMW! /pan

how much are the forged pistons and rods costing you all up brad?, and does that include big end bearings and journal bearings and studs? I plan to do the same thing. I already have a spare set of heads to get port polished, and a block to bore up to match any pistons, I find all im missing is a crank cos the one I have has got half of a big end bearing melted to it =S , have not been able to track down a set of internals yet nor have i been able to find a set of uprated valve springs, but hopefully with a bit of help I will manage it some day. Money is my block as I am a broke 19 year old uni student haha. I'll get a job one day to pay for the ever money draining VR4.

Heh, nothing has actually happened yet. I do have a spare crank if you want though!

Being a student and owning a VR4 isnt easy..... Especially when you want to go down the forged route. I'm nearly there though.... Only a few more thousand £ to get it finished. All the best with it alan
