If I drive my car in tip mode it changes up the gears fine as soon as I move the lever, and it waits for me to do so, but when slowing it still changes down automatically unless I beat it to it.

Can anyone tell me if this is normal?

Perfectly normal - They all do it.:scholar:

You can bounce it off the rev limiter in tip all you like, but it won't let you bog down.

You can start in second gear - but you have to be stood still and use the tip to change into 2nd.

Why does it not change down into 2nd from 3rd?
sorta wished they did when coming to roundabouts :)

Give it some gas and it will!

Because it has bags of torque and should cope but I know what you mean, down to 3rd then down to first can be annoying.

I'm was sure it does change up if left but you can stay on it for a least a sec as I do everyday/rally as it sound so nice when going through the local tunnel/pan
