With winter around the corner I was thinking about rustproofing the Legnum. Is it worth it? Any recommendations etc.
Mant thanks

Definately worth it especially if it's an import. I am planning to do my front wheelarches tomorrow. I have got a tin of Hammerite Underbody seal to try out.

Clear Waxoyl is the way to go - easy to apply and cheap (works out about a tenner per car if you buy it in reasonable sized quantities) :scholar:

I'm planning to do mine tomorrow - we did Jimbo's Skyline a few weeks ago and we were impressed.

If there is any rust there already the stone guard stuff will not stop it. You need to remove it or use a rust converter. I painted any bare metal with POR15 from Frost and then sprayed it all with Dinitrol corromax and Dinitrol 4941 underseal after that. It is supposed to be a lot harder wearing than waxoyl which in high impact areas had all been removed after about 6 months. If you intend to keep the car for a long time it is worth it and a lot of the classic cars guys prefer it to waxoyl

Yeah Dinitrol or the new stuff from Bilt Hamber (a UK company) is supposed to be good - their 'Electrox' paint won a group test in Practical Classics recently.

This website is also good - RustBuster stuff is also highly regarded in the Classic car fraternity. If it'll stop an old British Leyland hulk from dissolving, it must be good!:
