not sure how much extra you would get out of the v6 , when Lboots had his it was very very tight on the AFR's so didn't seem to be much you could gain .

Now replacing the maf would give you some as would playing with the timing

So tbhit the SAFC on the v6 would not give you a very good bang for buck score

I've got one sitting at home, it might get put onto my ST-R at some point. Don't think it will work with the bmw.

well i've had a quick play with the LM1 and the fueling on these ain't bad at all , the run in the picture is a gentle trundle upto about 30 (getting out of the layby) then booting it to 140

does seem quite good but you should be able to push it closer to 14's with the safc
so maybe you could tweak a few extra horse via the fueling

Wonder how much better it was on Lboot's as he claimed he was told it was perfect across the entire run - maybe the RR he used was not that accurate

pity you did not have rpm measured as well paul , but looking at Ian's I would say there is scope for some tweaking - would advise that if you do use the SAFC then you watch for knock as well ( but you already knew that )

yeh i know , i need the rpm convertor for that , but then i can use the super sexy 3d graph :afro: i belive evo scan or some such can monitor knock through the odb port so as and when i decide to play i will invest in that as well , i may well find out what my compression is and see what scope for improvment there is in the engine breathing department, Mmmmm ported heads, i can see this is gonna be expensive :pimp2:

The ecu gives you knock sum not knock value

think you are around 9.5:1 for the comp ratio

that low :o for the N/A room to play there then :pimp2:

so i'd need a knock link then as well

may be easier to get it setup on a rolling road as they can shove some det cans on

yeah 9.5:1 for the n/a v6's

thats pretty **** for a n/a , 10.5 -11.5 would be nearer the mark

rpw sell a full kit to make it a dohc mivec engine with 12.5:1 compression.

That engine will make about 220-230kw, and revs out to 9000rpm. It would cost about 5000 pounds though, plus an ecu install.

If my 850CSi turns out to be a bit of a dog, I might sell it and get one of those engines and put it into the ST-R, how cool would that be, it would be faster than a standard VR-4 :)
