2nd hand exhaust

Was nosing around on trade me (as one does) and came across a wrecked VR4 with a big bore exhaust. I asked about it and the guy said it is full of oil from when the turbo went. Exactly how much oil goes down the exhaust when a turbo blows? Would it be salvageable? Or does it really all depend?

oil in the exhaust shouldn't be a problem , just wash it out before use. The only thing that would be fecked would be the catalytic converor, if it had one of them and theoil went through ot that would damage it. But the big bore pipe is just a big bore pipe.
