View Full Version : Definitely don't fit

Because I was changing a wheel anyway, I thought for a laugh I'd see what the Legnum looked like on a set of ROTA GTRs I have in the garage.

The answer is:

Front Wheel :18"x235 offset about 37 (IIRC).
Looks like it might rub the top arm when jack is lowered, but has plenty of room to steer. Unfortunately, it also sticks out of the arch by about 20mm. MIGHT be okay with arch extensions? Looks neat.

Rear Wheels: 18"x265 (yeup!) offset about 32.
Definitely touches the top arm. Deeper dished wheel, so sticks out about 2 inches from body. Looks absoloutely suberb!

The wheels in question are ROTA GTRs in gunmetal. A shame they don't fit as they seriously suit the car!

Off onto e-bay they go...........

Sorry Sorry, didn't get in from work until gone midnight (left the house at 0500, get in at 00:50. Hmm. I'm not paid enough).

Job for this weekend, methinks.

Here's the reason it just isn't going to work:

But here's why it's worth a photo:

mmmmmm tasty.

And yes, okay, it needs lowering, but this looks fab!

It clears all the suspension gubbins and just about steers: shame about the legality. Wide arch kit?

er...REALLY wide arch kit?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v647/Mice_Elf/DSC_3215.jpg

Look at this: I'm SURE I need this much grip!

lol, the stock wheels look reeediculously small in comparison.

You know I reckon some facelift front arches and some EVO5/6 rear flares would sort it out just fine!

-splutters coffee- That's just evil: Now I am going to keep thinking about it brad. Thanks!

No..categorically no: it's a mod too far. This car is meant to be relatively stealthy and easy to park: wider acrhes is just too much, especially when coupled with the expense (UK Body work is expensive!)

-sigh- a man can dream.

In all honesty, I'd imagine the ride would be horrid, as it certainly "firmed it up" on the Zed.
Saying that the amount of grip massively improved.

Not sure the legnum really needs it, though: not without an extra 250bhp.

I've got a set of EVO arches at home, they will get put onto the car eventually! I'll be running my 17x9.5" 35mm Wedsport wheels all round with 255/40's, and probably a 9mm spacer on the back wheels.

hi gy's

never to be the voice of sensibility,

i say get on with it, they look fab, mod it to hell i reckon.....

i'm looking at some very similar wheels to that design myself, and can get them around 8.5j width, 35-40 offset, and in 18" diameter, so i think i'd get away with running 225,45 or 40 18 rubber all round.

any comments on those sizes before i spend my hard earned guys?

Back to the rota's, they'd look wicked on my red zed, i wish this thread had come up before i spent elsewhere already, tut, typical eh...

cheers, shrew

you're looking at the right size and offset, just go with 225/40 rather than 225/45

Funny you should mention the Zed....they came off our black one...just before the insurance company collected it :(
