Is anyone interested in looking at my new mods with pictures installing them.
Battery into the boot
New head unit boss 80w * 4 http://www.millionbuy.com/bosbv7950.html
Fusion crossover/equalizer
New front speakers 4" 2 way
New front Tweeters
New rear 6*9s speakers 3 way
2 * 12" jvc subwoofers
2 * 680w jvc amps
4 farad power capacitor.

There will be no cheap just throw a few sub boxes into the boot.
I am making a custom boot install

Here is a pic of how it will sort of be.
19734

Lets begin. But before we do I will give some background information on myself.
I have had 12 years in the arcade video game industry, Timeout/TimeZone.
As a video game fabracator, so i know my way around a soldering iron, fibre glass and welding helmet.
2-3 Years as a Car striper, to get imported cars ready for compliance in NZ.
Installing seat belts...etc

First thing is to get 2 * 4g cables from the bonnet to the boot. That is car spec cable. 4g high currant @ $10 per meter, need 10 meters.
4 connecting tabs 35mm * 8mm , 2 M8 * 20 bolts with spring washer and nuts.
2 battery connectors, with wing nut
1 15" black cable with 2 connecting tabs, for negative connection.
2 150amp fuses with mounting brackets. This currant I will test and put lower ampage fuses in if need be.
1 marine battery box.

First thing was to find a place to feed the cable through the fire wall.
Found a rubber in the fire wall to feed them through.
Man what a place.
Need to strip the glove box out and all the other trim in the front passanger side.
Slowly working my way down the air con unit, heater unit. Found that I will not get much out of the air con, so went straight for the blower unit (heater) Undone about 6 bolts for both units, to totaly remove the blower unit.
With a bit of fighting with pull this push that undo this clip, move the wires, unplug the blower, **** that was easy, now I hope I get it back in was my first thought.

I now have access to the rubber grommet with a huge wire harness going into the bonnet.

I used 2 thin bits of metal to hold it open while I feed my 2 4g cables through it,
Poked enough through to it pull to the front of the car, tied it down.
19737

Worked out how long the need to be and staged them and soldered a connecting tab onto both ends.

19738

I started to run it down the wire harness, In the cockpit area follwing all the other cables, using cables ties along the way, opened the loom box that runs along the side of the car, and feed it through to the boot.
19739

Under the back seat.
19740

Into the boot, I used a cable protector here to stop it shorting out on the body.
19741

Soldered a connector to each cable. Put a battery connector on to see How bulky it is.
19742

Just need to add fuses that will be later.

Next Job:
I dont want 12volt around any ground areas so lets isolate the power with some plywood. But will also act a shelf to put the battery box on, my amps and 4 farad capacitor.
May turn this shelf in a fibre glass one, but most likey to be wood at the end as its more flexable to mounting stuff on it easier.

19747

I welded 4 bolts M6 * 65 hex, chipped, sanded and primed, painted the bottom of the bolts as I needed to grind the areas down to weld into place

19743

So time to make a shelf. I will also hinge the sub mounting face to this shelf as well. To give me access to the battery.

19744

That is all for now.

Reshaped the shelf, added some strengh on the bottom.
Also cut it further back to allow for the spare to come out.

I have put an alarm ( MONGOOSE M80G (3 Immobiliser)) into my car.
I don't really want to post any pics of that in at public forum.

I must say what a mission, that was. To finding the right infomation, and the location of the correct wires.

Fair play to you, it looks interesting.

I just personally don't get MAX ICE. It does my heed in. Yer in a car?! Yeh, maybe a subtle amp, and a bit of an upgrade to the speakers for better fidelity, but Xhibit Pimp my Daddy'O Ride WTF!!??!?

Each to their own though eh!

20068
Battery cables are all tied in.
20069
Amp, cap & battery box all in.
20070
20072
New 480w 6*9's
20073
20074
Fabric is going to be changed to the same as the parcel tray.
20075

Just doing some testing with it all wired up to my new head unit.
I must admit the sound is so clear, even at full noise.

Did I put you off?

I post some pics of my new dvd player head unit, when I am happy with all the sound.
Headunit has an input for a rear camera, and will give you the picture on the 3 1/2" screen when you put the car in reverse. Very kool, will stop me running into rocks when I pick my lady up at her work.
